ABOUT THE GIRL:
Hi! My name is Grace and I’m so glad you dropped by π
I’m 28 this year and I adore life π from blowing bubbles with little children to fixing car wheels, I find magic in every little thing and love waking up to new experiences.
I care deeply about girls who look into the mirror and hate what they see- who spend a large part of their lives desperately coming up with meal/exercise plans after plans, promising themselves that tomorrow they would start- that today would be the last day they did such things to themselves. I hate that society is more obsessed about looks than health and I want to change that. I want girls (and boys) to start thinking health and strength, not body size. I want to break the cycle of women passing on their insecurities and self doubt to the next generation of women. There is too much of life being left by the wayside while one is caught up worrying only about how the body looks.
I’m also deeply passionate about real food. (I’m sure you can tell). I try to stay away from processed “food” as well as refined sugar and flour and like to spend my days bullying encouraging people around me to do the same. I love my country and her people and feel that we could avoid so many problems and give the uneducated and the homeless (not just in Singapore) a greater foothold in life if we just take care of ourselves and channel the money spent on preventable diseases like diabetes on housing, education and clean food/ water for the poor. If only people could see that healthy eating is far more than for the sole purpose of attaining a hot body. I really believe what you choose to eat can change the world .
Oh, and I recently got married and became a student again as of August 2015 so am adjusting to life in a new home, new school, new family and new roles as a wife, student and daughter- in-law! My other interests in life other than obsessively reading recipe books and watching cooking videos include cleaning the house, playing with craft supplies and trying to reason with myself why the gym is an evil place and we should just eat chocolate cake and skip another day of it. Haha.
I also love talking to people and making friends so email me at fithealthybunny@gmail.com (whether it’s about something serious or y’know, your frustration that you can’t find one of your socks) or come say hi on instagramΒ @fithealthybunny! Looking forward to hearing from you!
I le how authentic your words are
Thank you marcus π
Love your blog! Keep writing!
Thanks Angela! π
Hi! Can i check with you, what kind of bento box r u using n does it keep food warm till lunchtime if i prepare it early in the morning? Ur blog inspired mi to prepare healthy meals for my hubby n girl. Thank u. π
Hi Jeslyn! I'll do a blog post on the stuff I use soon but for a quick reply- I use the Tiger thermal lunch jars to bring out food. I normally pack rice and dishes that would get a bit cold by lunch (I don't have a microwave at work) but will bring along a thermal flask of soup or meat stew or some hot food to go with it so it doesn't feel like I'm eating cold food. THe thermal insulators are really good and if you are putting in hot liquid like porridge, soup, stew etc, they are still hot at lunch time and warm even at 5pm after being packed in the morning at 7pm. I've been using them for 3 years now π
I must say that this piece is really well written! It always feels good to find another person with similar thoughts. Keep up the good work =)
Thank you Jing Zhi! π
I love your blog and words. Reading it is so motivating me to go for a healthier life and get rid of all those strict diet tips that is suffering, I have been very strict in my diet just to get slim down, but it is mentally killing when have to say no to all those tasty food.
Reading your post, I found that it is important to get a balance between it.
Thanks and keep writing to inspire me..XD
so nice to know here~
No problem babe π Yes, healthy living is not just about size or restriction but about freedom and balance π Keep going! Don't give up! And go inspire others as well! π
Hi, I just stumbled upon your blog, and already I think I love you for it. I've only scanned through a couple of posts but I can't wait to delve further and indulge in every post. Thank you for being such an inspiration to your readers! Thank you for also sharing your knowledge and thoughts π
I struggled/am struggling with binge eating myself, though I've switched over to bingeing on fruits. It's still unhealthy in the sense that I'm not being mindful of my feelings of fullness, but it's hard to quit.
Clean eating is really awesome though. Once I cut out the processed foods, I never want to go back!
Thank you so much for your kind words π It's always better to binge on fruits than whatever junk you were bingeing on. Take it slow my dear and remember that every day is a new day. May you one day find freedom and fulfillment in all the beautiful things life has to offer rather than in a box of fried chicken π <3
I am highly impressed with/by your words. Surely an inspiration to a 43-year old me (^_*)
Thank you SO much for your kind words π It's really people like you that keep me blogging! π
Hey, I'm a teenage Singaporean girl who has really bad body image (but I really love food, probably shouldn't go together heh) and I'm really glad you're doing this, you seem very authentic and genuine π Will be reading your future posts!
Hi! I love food too! And I think almost every girl has bod body image- it's really not us– it's society! Haha. Let's try to be the generation that changes that! π
love your blog! time i try to pack lunch to work and improve my diet and nutrition π
YAY!! Let's make packing lunches to work a super normal thing in Singapore!!! π If you have instagram, add me so I can follow and see what you are making! π
Love your blog! May I have your IG as I would like to follow you! Thank you! My account –> @crystalizedcrystal
Hi babe! My IG is @vegsmoothiebunny! π
i love your page! thankyou for giving me inspiration to start eating cleanly again π i recently moved to singapore, and after eating at hawker centres at least once a day am feeling headachy, lethargic, plagued with digestive issues and an expanding waistline π hopefully i can change things around for the better!
Hello! Welcome to Singapore! I'm sure you can do it! Have a good time here and drop by this page often! π
If you find yourself with a less than ideal diet, you may be missing some vital nutrients. Sometimes its because we are picky eaters, sometime its because there are no healthy options where we work. So lunchboxing is the way to go! A healthy meal energises me. Hawker food usually causes my energy levels to crash in the afternoon.
Haha great points! Thanks! π
