This is not a preachy blog. I don’t write to shove information into your face about how bad food is. On the contrary, I aim to share how AMAZING food is. I REALLY LOVE FOOD. but REAL FOOD. Food that fuels, reinvigorates and makes you feel fabulous. Food that is lovingly grown, prepared and served, not some chemical laden creation that comes in a box and is ‘ready in 2 min!’.
I don’t profess to be a saint about eating. In fact, awhile ago, I would have thought that I would be the last person who would think about healthy eating. More often than not, there would usually be some well meaning friend who would gently point out that I could do with some veggies and exercise (or ‘erm, excuse me, excuse me, your ginormous butt is blocking the television screen’)
In fact, I thought long and hard about this because I felt a lot like a fake. I don’t look like a model neither do I eat very well all the time. As a recovering Binge Eating Addict, I still struggle with my feelings about food sometimes and I still do fall back into the terrible cycles of comfort eating and restriction. I’m not vegan, or 100% organic, or anything like that at all. Who am I to talk about healthy eating or even cooking? Heck, it wasn’t till recently I could hard-boil an egg without overcooking it. But I am learning, and this space is my learning journey.
Most importantly, I don’t profess to have any professional knowledge on whatever I write here. Everything on this website is either information taken from personal experience, the net or from offline material like books and magazines etc, so please take everything with a pinch of (celtic sea) salt. Also, if you have medical conditions, it’s best to seek your doctor’s advice before trying anything new (though, I’m sure a clean healthy diet will help too!)
Nonetheless, I do make it a point to write only things that I have carefully considered or have had first hand experience in making, tasting or trying such as the recipes etc.
I strive to give my honest opinion in everything said here but if you feel strongly about something or feel something has been stated erroneously, feel free to comment or email fithealthybunny@gmail.com!
