Behind everything featured on this blog is an adamant, determined spirit to share only the good stuff, as enthusiastically and as authentically as possible. But what exactly is ‘the good stuff’? The good stuff, to me, is about investing in the eternal and at the same time, having a little fun with it. It’s about progress, always, never about perfection. Every recipe featured goes through a lot of thought, every meal plan created so that it will be as balanced as possible from all the recommended food groups. I don’t believe in any sort of restriction. No food is off the menu. I celebrate all the macro and micro nutrients and encourage balanced eating. There are no labels here. It doesn’t matter if you are vegan, vegetarian or paleo. What matters is that you are human. And in your food choices you are totally in control — you choose to fuel yourself with the best available to suit your specific nutritional needs. It’s not so much what you eat than what you need. It’s self awareness, control and ultimately, ownership of your diet and your life
And because I care deeply that society is looks/ quick fix -obsessed, I am determine to create this place into one that protects my readers from the deluge of self shaming, self harming propaganda out there. There will be no body comparisons found here, no before and after pictures of other people’s bodies that you can ogle at for inspiration and no promotion of quick fix diets and detoxes. Sorry my dears, over here we get right back to the basic truths of healthy living 🙂
But of course, I certainly still will recommend cool products and services great for the time crunched work executive or student, I want you to always remember that these are all supplements- great if you need to work around your busy schedule but at the end of the day, none of these superfoods, cool devices and products I recommend for health will ever be able to replace (cheap) real, fresh food and daily activity.
In conclusion, if you would just want a condensed version of the driving mentality behind this blog, it would definitely be: balanced eating, sustainable living. There are blogs out there run by health enthusiasts who health- blog for a living; which means that they have a great deal of time to make fancy meals which are photographed beautifully and workout all the time. But I don’t, and perhaps, you don’t too and if making a 200 ingredient superfood smoothie on a daily basis bankrupts you and makes you binge on a tub of ice cream after, then that’s not the kind of healthy living I want for you. At the end of the day, healthy living is meant to help you attain your life goals, NOT become your only life goal! You don’t need perfectly balanced meals all the time or know the nutritional profile of every single vegetable. You just need to help yourself make better choices everyday . 🙂 More plants, more movement, more water, more rest. You know it 😉
So gambatte, everyone! I’m excited to embark on this journey of mindful living with you guys as well! 😀
